Project Leader: Professor Adisa Azapagic
Project Duration: October 2013 - September 2017.
The focus of this work is to assess the sustainability of extracting shale gas in the UK and how this could impact the domestic energy market. A life cycle approach will be applied to assess the environmental, economic and social impacts of shale gas from ‘cradle to grave’. Currently the US is the only country commercially exploiting shale gas, but exploration debate is gaining momentum in the UK.
The primary contact for this project is Dr Jasmin Cooper.
