Biography

Christian holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Cardiff and an M.Sc. in Combustion and Energy from the University of Leeds. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham in the field of domestic energy optimisation using artificial neural networks. From 2008-2013 he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester on the SPRIng and BIOCHEM projects after which he moved to Durham University to work on the UK’s largest smart grid project, providing insights into future power flows using large volume smart metered data. He rejoins the SIS group to work on CSEF, exploring energy reduction strategies for industrial processes in food chains.
